Green Chamber of Commerce: Melinda Cheel

When she’s not recommending you eat your yard, Melinda Cheel, Executive Director of the Green Chamber of Commerce, is working to support and promote green businesses and organizations.
How do you eco?
Professionally, I’m working to help support, promote, and give a political voice to sustainable businesses so they’re able to survive and thrive.
Personally, I do all I can to support local green businesses. And I’m obsessed with composting.
Why did you go eco?
That’s a long story. The gist of it is that I realized we had done a poor job of designing many of our systems and I wanted to be part of the re-design process.
One of the main reasons I went eco is because it feels so good. I’m attracted to the passion it evokes and the innovation it requires. I’m slightly addicted to the elation I feel when surrounded by committed individuals and the work they are doing to help keep our planet dynamic, abundant and beautiful.
What’s your favorite eco tip?
Eat your yard! Install an entirely edible landscape.
